Wine of the Month Club
Each
month our staff will choose two to three wines exclusively
for our club members. They will vary from country, style,
and varietal. An extensive information sheet will accompany
the wines including: menu ideas, serving suggestions, history
of the grape, vineyard and region, recent accolades and other
interesting facts. The monthly cost will be approximately
between $25.00 and $35.00.
The wine will be available for pick-up in the store at the
first of every month. Delivery is available in Anderson Township
for a $4.00 fee. Outside of Anderson Township within the 275
belt, delivery is available for $8.00.
The Wine of the Month Club makes the perfect gift for:

This Month's Selections
We have chosen two
very festive wines to close out the year with. May they help
us to celebrate the good things and lend us some hope for
the future.
Hubert
Clavelin et Fils Brut-Comte
.$13.99
Hubert
Clavelin and his two sons have vineyards in the Cote du Jura,
a small range of mountains about 30 miles to the east of the
Cote D' Or in the province of the Franche-Comte. Within their
holding they have a parcel of very high limestone soil that
they planted in Chardonnay and from this parcel they make
their sparkling wine, Brut Comte.
Although
they cannot call this a true champagne because the grapes
were grown outside the actual region of Champagne, the method
is the same. The wine is fermented in the bottle and each
bottle is riddled by hand.
Riddling
is an integral stage in the traditional champagne method of
making sparkling wine, known as remuage in French. It involves
dislodging the deposit left in a bottle after a second fermentation
has taken place inside it and shaking it into the neck of
the bottle.
The care
that the family takes is shown in the very fine quality of
the Brut Comte - tasting more like a true champagne than a
sparkling wine from Burgundy. This wine has received great
press and is a consistent prizewinner in France. It is ideal
for all your holiday parties and celebrations.
Noval Raven Porto
$14.99
Since
1715 Quinta do Noval has been producing Port wine at their
Quinta (farm) in the heart of the Darro Valley in Portugal.
Noval Raven is a new wine from Quinta do Noval. Produced from
their best grape varieties grown on their estate, Noval Raven
is vinified in the traditional way. Port is a fortified wine
made by adding brandy to arrest fermenting grape must, which
results in a wine that is both sweet and high in alcohol.
Port derives its name from Oporto, the second largest city
in Portugal.
The Raven
was gently fortified and aged in cask for four years. The
grapes were trodden by foot, which is custom in Oporto and
then fermented in the traditional lagares (low sided stone
trough were grapes are trodden and fermented) of the Quinta.
The result
is a wine with great charm and finesse. It has an intense
fruity bouquet; it is rich, elegant, well-balanced, with a
velvet, tannic structure. It is particularly good with chocolate.
Reach to be enjoyed now, Noval Raven does not need to be decanted.
Enjoy!
All of
us at Wine World would like to wish each and every one of
you a peaceful and hopeful Holiday Season.
